Recently, our EAP 1 students participated in an exciting and fun-filled activity — the Spaghetti and Marshmallow Challenge! Led by their teachers, John Coyle and Lilie Oliveira the students were tasked with building the tallest freestanding structure possible using only 20 sticks of spaghetti, one meter of tape, one meter of string, and one marshmallow which must sit on top of the structure.

The challenge encourages creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking, giving students a unique opportunity to develop English communication and problem-solving skills while also having a lot of fun. Throughout the activity, students shared laughter, innovative ideas, and some hilarious moments as towers collapsed and marshmallows flew! Congratulations to our winning team members Rui LI, Yahui YU, Laxmi PANWAR, Zelong TAN, and Fuka SUZUKI (from left to right). Everyone had a blast, and we’re proud of the fantastic teamwork shown by all students.

ELA is looking forward to offering more engaging activities like this in the future!
